Our Story
OOAK stands for One of a Kind. I started this brand in 2024 with the dream of creating clothing that celebrates individuality while reminding people of their worth.
In 2016, I lost my cousin, Tanner. His passing shattered me, my family, and so many of his friends. That loss changed the way I see the world and made me realize how important it is to remind people that their life matters. No one can take your place — you are truly one of a kind.
That message lives at the heart of OOAK. Every piece we create is marked with our OOAK logo as a reminder that you matter. Some designs also feature our puzzle piece symbol. The puzzle represents the world, and each person is a piece of it. Just as a puzzle is never complete without every piece, the world isn’t complete without you.
At OOAK, we’re building more than a clothing brand — we’re building a reminder that every person is one of a kind, every life matters, and no one is ever alone. To carry this mission forward, a percentage from every hoodie sold is donated to the Tanner Henschel Memorial OOAK Scholarship Fund, which supports graduating high school students as they take their next steps.
The scholarship recipient is selected and the award is presented each year by a dedicated scholarship committee, which includes my aunt, myself, and additional members, ensuring Tanner’s legacy is honored with care, intention, and integrity.
For those who would like to support this cause but prefer not to make a purchase, we have also created a direct donation option. Contributions can be made at the link below and will go directly toward funding the scholarship:

Because this brand isn’t just about clothing — it’s about community, hope, and reminding the world that every single person matters.
Wear the reminder. Share the message. Be one of a kind.
The One behind OOAK
Hi, my name is Karina — the designer, creator, and everything in between behind OOAK. When I’m not working on new designs, you can usually find me sipping coffee, shaping clay in pottery class, spending time with friends and family, or dreaming up the next way to showcase individuality.
OOAK is my way of building a community where everyone feels seen, valued, and one of a kind. I love connecting with people who share that mindset, and I’m so excited to share this journey with you.
